Unexpected Casual Look

DSC_0171It’s Day Two of my self-imposed Take One, Pass It On Challenge.  I decided that I’d start out by remixing the blouse I wore in yesterday’s look.  Today, I paired it with a beaded Zara skirt for a casual yet chic look.  I don’t know why but I never wear this skirt for nights out on the town.  I mean, it’s a beaded mini skirt so you’d think that’s what it was meant to do!  It’s my fancy beaded day skirt!  It’s unexpected but still totally appropriate for a day time look.  Just add some funky earrings, like these vintage telephone ones, and your look is done!

I’m having fun with this challenge so far!  I spend most the previous day thinking about what I’ll do tomorrow.  Two looks down, 28 more to go!  Wish me luck!

The Beaded Day Skirt

Beaded Skirt Day StyleWhy should beads and sparkles be reserved for the night?  Why doesn’t the day get to have any fun?  I vote we all start wearing pieces originally reserved for happy hours and nights on the town out in the daylight!  Hear Hear!!

I love all my sparkly intricate pieces but they often just sit in my closet unworn.  It doesn’t make sense though because these pretty gems could easily be styled down a bit and worn wherever you darn well please!  I toned down the beadwork on this Zara skirt by adding a simple shaped Brian Lichtenberg ‘Homies’ T-shirt and a light denim Zara shirt.  Since the skirt has enough bling on its own, I kept accessories simple with just a few basic silver rings.  Carpe Diem, you beautiful skirt!!

Isn't the beadwork on this skirt simply gorgeous?
