Sometimes a shoe comes into your life and sweeps you away. We had actually used these babies recently in a Nordstrom Fashion Show I worked and I couldn’t leave without them. They’re definitely a show stopper! Not to mention platforms are so in right now. This skirt is actually shorts with heavy pleating on the front to give the illusion of a skirt. I would never be comfortable in an actual skirt that short! One gust of wind and you guys would all be getting a show! No, Thank You!
We recently flew to Seattle to celebrate a very exciting graduation for my man’s sister. She graduated from Commercial Dive school! How crazy cool is that?! For the big event, I went classic chic with a knee length skirt and sweater. It was a little colder than I thought it would be so ended up wearing this faux leather jacket basically the whole day. I got a gross bug bite on the side of my toe that was really bothered by my Charlotte Olympia kitty shoes I was planning to wear so I wore my sandals all day. Even in the rain! I guess I am a California girl so we can get away with things like that… *wink wink*
I’ve been using Rocksbox for awhile now. According to my account, I’m on my 14th box! So when they approached me about doing a review, it was so easy for me to say YES! I LOVE Rocksbox! It’s a subscription service that sends you 3 pieces of jewelry that you can keep for as long or as little time as you like. When you’re finished, you mail it back in the provided envelope and they’ll send you another set! So easy!! Each set is valued around $200 and includes designer brands like Kendra Scott, House of Harlow 1960, Margaret Elizabeth, and Gorjana. I’ve been really impressed with the crazy high quality of the jewelry I’ve received! I’m obsessed with checking their website and instagram (@Rocksbox) to add new items to my wishlist.
The subscription is only $19/mo. and you get to use $10 of that fee each month towards the purchase of any pieces you couldn’t live without. Ready for a super special offer?! Recently I had an interview for a very cool position. I’m not going to jinx it by giving away any details just yet but cross your fingers for me! The position is more on the creative side of things so I wanted to show my personally a bit but still be first interview professional. Now I’m a very girly girl most of the time so this rose print pencil skirt fit the bill perfectly. The peter pan collar makes the otherwise plain silk blouse much more interesting. And the pointed toe basic black pump make this staple shoe modern. I felt like I could take on the world! Wish me luck!!
The real reason I love a fun romper is because it’s the best lazy day piece that still looks great on. One and done. I just accessorized with simple gold jewelry and nude gladiator heels. I love this Eddie Borgo gold choker too. It’s a little dramatic but not a huge “look at me” statement piece. The romper is full of polka dots! That’s loud enough as it is. This outfit is going to be my spring go-to for sure.
Oh Sydney. You are so beautiful. It was a stunning few days we spent in Sydney for the end of our Australia visit. Never a cloud in the sky and the temps were perfect for a full day of wandering. We really enjoyed visiting the tourist sites like the Sydney Harbor Bridge, the Opera House, and the Royal Botanic Gardens. It was a bit windy along the harbor so I totally had a Marilyn moment or two (or three!). Sorry about that folks! I miss this place so much.
OMG. The Nordstrom Designer Preview is my absolute favorite show I get to help put on every year. Who wouldn’t want to touch all these beautiful art-like pieces of designer clothing… and get paid for it?! Even more so, it’s inspiration for my real life looks for the coming season. Here are my favorite outfits from the event. P.S. – My birthday is coming up if anyone is looking for ideas. *wink wink*
