Rocksbox Review + Special Offer

chelshoot2-26I’ve been using Rocksbox for awhile now.  According to my account, I’m on my 14th box!  So when they approached me about doing a review, it was so easy for me to say YES!  I LOVE Rocksbox!  It’s a subscription service that sends you 3 pieces of jewelry that you can keep for as long or as little time as you like.  When you’re finished, you mail it back in the provided envelope and they’ll send you another set!  So easy!!  Each set is valued around $200 and includes designer brands like Kendra Scott, House of Harlow 1960, Margaret Elizabeth, and Gorjana.  I’ve been really impressed with the crazy high quality of the jewelry I’ve received!  I’m obsessed with checking their website and instagram (@Rocksbox) to add new items to my wishlist.

The subscription is only $19/mo. and you get to use $10 of that fee each month towards the purchase of any pieces you couldn’t live without.  Ready for a super special offer?!  I’m giving you an extraordinary promotion code for your first month FREE!  Just enter the code ‘wanderinginheelsxoxo’ at checkout.  You’re going to love it!  Click here to Sign Up!

LookBook: Spring Transition

chelshoot2-4In San Diego, transitioning from winter to spring isn’t as extreme as most places (I’m looking at you, New York!) but there are a few things I look forward to still.  I move my heavier coats into the garage and dig through my shorts to remind myself and my white legs what I own.  I’ve come to embrace my paleness and don’t bother with sunless tanners anymore.  I get tempted by the latest greatest sunless tanners on the market but I’ve never found one that looks quite right.  Oh well!!  I’m still taking these pale legs out!  My favorite way to transition into spring/summer is to wear shorts with a sweater or jacket.  It’s a comfy easy way to layer for the cool evenings.

P.S.- I found this rad Chanel bag at a consignment store here in San Diego.  I basically fell on the floor when I found it.  My momma taught me never to pay full price for anything (not that buying a Chanel 2.55 full price was ever an option)!  Try checking out online consigners like Shop-Hers or TheRealReal to score your designer deal.

Definitely one of my favorite jobs is when I get to assist with styling runway shows.  These photos are from the Beauty Trend Show at Nordstrom Fashion Valley.  This event is particularly fun because we get to go a little wild with print on print action and lots of bold colors.  The hardest part of the job is trying to not come home with every single thing (and the 6am call time)!  I’ve provided links for some of the items under the photos for your shopping pleasure!

LookBook: Coming Up Roses

chelsrose3Recently I had an interview for a very cool position.  I’m not going to jinx it by giving away any details just yet but cross your fingers for me!  The position is more on the creative side of things so I wanted to show my personally a bit but still be first interview professional.  Now I’m a very girly girl most of the time so this rose print pencil skirt fit the bill perfectly.  The peter pan collar makes the otherwise plain silk blouse much more interesting.  And the pointed toe basic black pump make this staple shoe modern.  I felt like I could take on the world!  Wish me luck!!

LookBook: Polka Dot Romper

chels13The real reason I love a fun romper is because it’s the best lazy day piece that still looks great on.  One and done.  I just accessorized with simple gold jewelry and nude gladiator heels.  I love this Eddie Borgo gold choker too.  It’s a little dramatic but not a huge “look at me” statement piece.  The romper is full of polka dots!  That’s loud enough as it is.  This outfit is going to be my spring go-to for sure.

LookBook: Sydney

DSCN2113

Oh Sydney.  You are so beautiful.  It was a stunning few days we spent in Sydney for the end of our Australia visit.  Never a cloud in the sky and the temps were perfect for a full day of wandering.  We really enjoyed visiting the tourist sites like the Sydney Harbor Bridge, the Opera House, and the Royal Botanic Gardens.  It was a bit windy along the harbor so I totally had a Marilyn moment or two (or three!).  Sorry about that folks!  I miss this place so much.

LookBook: Plaid and Perfume

DSC_0037

Normally I’m the most girly of all girly girls but sometimes I just need a comfy top and denim type of day.  Scored this ridiculously soft Bella Dahl top at the Bloomingdale’s friends and family sale.  It’s so soft it’s like daytime appropriate pajamas!  The high side slit gives it a little more of a sexy vibe than its “I borrowed this from my boyfriend” counterparts.  If you aren’t being ironic by pairing your plaid shirt with a fluffy skirt or sparkles than distressed denim is just an easy “Do”.

This perfume bottle purse is just too fun for words.  We spotted this gem walking home from dinner one night and I had to go back and get it the next morning!  It was at one of my favorite vintage and novelty shops in San Diego called Bad Madge.  It’s a fantastic destination for unique gifts and really really cool vintage pieces.
