LookBook: Crop Top on Repeat

c44This crop top is the perfect length for me.  I’m not all fit and toned in the abs area so I don’t want to show more then a little peek of my tummy.  So I needed something that basically hit right at where all my high waisted skirts and such would hit.  Bingo!  I did get a super awesome tip recently (but too late for this find) from one of my stylist buddies to look for Tall crop tops.  So that way you’re getting the extra length without the extra width.  Genius!

#LOTD: Casual Faux Leather Skirt

DSC06281I got a great response last time I wore this skirt but this time I wanted to make it more casual.  It’s really a very versatile skirt now that I’ve started playing with it a little more!  To sort of tone down the fanciness of the previous look, I wore a super comfortable vintage Led Zeppelin concert tee and my favorite polka dot Kate Spade for Keds pumps.  I kept the jewelry a little bit more simple by just using delicate gold pieces.  The skirt is kind of loud on it’s on so it doesn’t really require much in the way of accessorizing.  The Stella and Bow Mean Girls collection makes me giggle inside every time I look at it.  And this bracelet is actually small enough for my super tiny wrists!  Double score!

Fun with Black & White

DSC05771

My first look for 2014!  Man, it feels so weird to type 2014!  Today I decided to wear all black and white.  I’m always preaching my love for color but hey!  Why not mix it up a bit now and then?!  I actually purchased this skirt a while ago but it just sat in my closet because it’s kind of heavy and, according to the tag, is only to be spot cleaned with a wet cloth.  Didn’t notice that until I wore it… oops!  So it’s not exactly the kind of skirt you want to run around town all day in heat in, if you catch my drift.  Even though San Diego is still not participating in winter, at least it’s cooled down enough to think about adding more vaguely wintery clothes into the mix.  So… ta da!  My heavy skirt is making its first appearance.  I had some fun with today’s look by adding a bold black and white print top and some fuzzy puff heels!  Of course, I feel weird with zero color on so the red lip makes me feel more… me!
