We recently flew to Seattle to celebrate a very exciting graduation for my man’s sister. She graduated from Commercial Dive school! How crazy cool is that?! For the big event, I went classic chic with a knee length skirt and sweater. It was a little colder than I thought it would be so ended up wearing this faux leather jacket basically the whole day. I got a gross bug bite on the side of my toe that was really bothered by my Charlotte Olympia kitty shoes I was planning to wear so I wore my sandals all day. Even in the rain! I guess I am a California girl so we can get away with things like that… *wink wink*
I love this hat so much. It makes me feel like a modern Downton Abby character. Now all I need is a snooty accent! Just kidding. With all that in mind, it just made so much sense that we would shoot this look at the trolly station. We even had a photo bomb from a guy passing by! Check my Facebook or Instagram for that pic.
Recently I had an interview for a very cool position. I’m not going to jinx it by giving away any details just yet but cross your fingers for me! The position is more on the creative side of things so I wanted to show my personally a bit but still be first interview professional. Now I’m a very girly girl most of the time so this rose print pencil skirt fit the bill perfectly. The peter pan collar makes the otherwise plain silk blouse much more interesting. And the pointed toe basic black pump make this staple shoe modern. I felt like I could take on the world! Wish me luck!!
The real reason I love a fun romper is because it’s the best lazy day piece that still looks great on. One and done. I just accessorized with simple gold jewelry and nude gladiator heels. I love this Eddie Borgo gold choker too. It’s a little dramatic but not a huge “look at me” statement piece. The romper is full of polka dots! That’s loud enough as it is. This outfit is going to be my spring go-to for sure.
OMG. The Nordstrom Designer Preview is my absolute favorite show I get to help put on every year. Who wouldn’t want to touch all these beautiful art-like pieces of designer clothing… and get paid for it?! Even more so, it’s inspiration for my real life looks for the coming season. Here are my favorite outfits from the event. P.S. – My birthday is coming up if anyone is looking for ideas. *wink wink*
Spring has arrived in San Diego which means it’s time to roll out the new Spring/Summer trends. Fashion Valley Mall shared some amazing new looks from retailers like Boss Hugo Boss, White House Black Market, Scotch & Soda, Anthropologie, Halston Heritage, AllSaints, Ted Baker London, Joe’s Jeans, & Macy’s. If that lineup doesn’t get you excited, you need to check your pulse! One of my favorite trends is the boho vibe including platform shoes, flowing maxi dresses, and fringe covered coats and bags. If only my mom had kept her clothes from her teenage years! I’d be right on trend!
I love the New Year. It’s a definitive date for you to reset all the things in your life that have gone astray. For me, my blog has really taken the back burner for many lame reasons and excuses. As an old band teacher once said, “Excuses are tools of mediocrity from which we build monuments of nothing.” So, gosh darn it, I’m going to get this blog back on track! Besides, I really enjoy doing it and another not-necessarily-a-resolution thing I want to change is to do more things that make me happy! It’s so easy to get caught up in getting stuff done that you forget to take a minute to have a little fun! Here are my resolutions for the year!
1) Post to my blog every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. (Help hold me to it, Lovely Readers!)
2) Get together with my girlfriends once a month. It doesn’t have to be something epic every month but we’re starting January with a little wine tasting trip.
3) Drink more water! From the feeble amount of research I’ve done, I should drink 2.2 Liters of water a day. So I purchased a 1 Liter Nalgene bottle to carry around and drink 2 refills a day.
Ta Da! Totally doable, right?
