Sometimes a shoe comes into your life and sweeps you away. We had actually used these babies recently in a Nordstrom Fashion Show I worked and I couldn’t leave without them. They’re definitely a show stopper! Not to mention platforms are so in right now. This skirt is actually shorts with heavy pleating on the front to give the illusion of a skirt. I would never be comfortable in an actual skirt that short! One gust of wind and you guys would all be getting a show! No, Thank You!
Sometimes a little simplicity can go a long way. Not every outfit needs to be full of color and patterns. A simple look like this relies on the fit of the clothing to make it chic. I also matched my bag to my shoes to make the look appear more intentional and not just grab-and-go.
Top: J.Crew, Pants: Citizens of Humanity ‘Rocket’ (Similar & Similar), Heels: Kate Spade New York, Bag: Chanel 2.55 (via consignment), Jewelry: Rocksbox (Use code ‘wanderinginheelsxoxo’ to give Rocksbox a try for a month FREE!)
I love this hat so much. It makes me feel like a modern Downton Abby character. Now all I need is a snooty accent! Just kidding. With all that in mind, it just made so much sense that we would shoot this look at the trolly station. We even had a photo bomb from a guy passing by! Check my Facebook or Instagram for that pic.
In San Diego, transitioning from winter to spring isn’t as extreme as most places (I’m looking at you, New York!) but there are a few things I look forward to still. I move my heavier coats into the garage and dig through my shorts to remind myself and my white legs what I own. I’ve come to embrace my paleness and don’t bother with sunless tanners anymore. I get tempted by the latest greatest sunless tanners on the market but I’ve never found one that looks quite right. Oh well!! I’m still taking these pale legs out! My favorite way to transition into spring/summer is to wear shorts with a sweater or jacket. It’s a comfy easy way to layer for the cool evenings.
P.S.- I found this rad Chanel bag at a consignment store here in San Diego. I basically fell on the floor when I found it. My momma taught me never to pay full price for anything (not that buying a Chanel 2.55 full price was ever an option)! Try checking out online consigners like Shop-Hers or TheRealReal to score your designer deal.

Recently I had an interview for a very cool position. I’m not going to jinx it by giving away any details just yet but cross your fingers for me! The position is more on the creative side of things so I wanted to show my personally a bit but still be first interview professional. Now I’m a very girly girl most of the time so this rose print pencil skirt fit the bill perfectly. The peter pan collar makes the otherwise plain silk blouse much more interesting. And the pointed toe basic black pump make this staple shoe modern. I felt like I could take on the world! Wish me luck!!
The real reason I love a fun romper is because it’s the best lazy day piece that still looks great on. One and done. I just accessorized with simple gold jewelry and nude gladiator heels. I love this Eddie Borgo gold choker too. It’s a little dramatic but not a huge “look at me” statement piece. The romper is full of polka dots! That’s loud enough as it is. This outfit is going to be my spring go-to for sure.
Sometimes one night away is all you need to hit the refresh button. With Fashion Week San Diego’s Spring Showcase as our excuse, we set out on a mini road trip to Harrah’s Casino for the night. Along the way, we stopped for a bit of wine tasting (my favorite thing!) and strolled along these beautiful orange groves. The trees were blooming and the scent was divine! The air smelled like warm honey and fresh squeezed orange juice so strong it was shocking.
